FAQ

The Collection

Are these real photos?

Yes! They're all real photographs shot in a studio.

The artist placed each individual flower, leaf and petal by hand in each composition.

There is only minimal editing on each image to clean up dust, smooth out the background, and minor tweaks to the colour and brightness.

Are these AI created images?

No AI artwork.

Every photo was arranged by hand in camera. Only minor retouching was done to clean up and finesse the final images.

What is Another Me Emerges about?

A collection about rediscovering who you've become after motherhood changed everything. Nine floral flatlays, each one composed by hand.

To read more, see the full Artist Statement.

What exactly is a flatlay?

A flatlay is a style of still life photo. The objects are arranged on a surface and shot from a bird's eye view.

You've seen these all over Instagram. The format took off because you can tell a visual story or set a mood with just a handful of everyday objects.

Neatly organised flatlays, in particular, feel comforting and satisfying because you can take in a lot of detail without feeling overwhelmed.

What does "open edition" mean?

Open edition means there is no set amount for how many prints will be made. It isn't limited to a certain number of copies so there is no sequence number (ex: 1 of 50).

Do you have any pieces in landscape (horizontal)?

This first collection is only available in portrait (as verticals).

The next collection will definitely include photos that are in landscape (horizontal) as well as portrait.

Are these artworks copyrighted?

Yes.

All artwork is solely owned by Connie Chan, operating as What She Pictures, and held under copyright.

Buying a print gives you ownership of the physical print, not the rights to the image.

Prints & Frames

Are the frames delivered ready to hang?

Yes, the frames arrive at your door ready to hang on your wall.

Will the print look like it does on the website?

Every piece in this collection has been test printed and approved by the artist before being added to the gallery.

Please note that most home and phone screens aren't colour-calibrated, so your print may look slightly different in person from what you see on screen.

How do I choose the right size for my space?

If you're torn between two sizes, go larger. Small art on a large wall is the most common regret.

Framed prints add a few centimetres around the paper size, so factor that in.

Should I buy framed or unframed?

Framed prints arrive ready to hang, and are professionally fitted.

Unframed prints give you the flexibility to use your own framer. If you don't already have a framer in mind, framed is the easier choice.

How long will the print last?

A lifetime. Pigment-based archival inks on acid-free fine art paper resist fading when kept indoors and out of direct sunlight.

Are the prints signed?

No. Open edition prints are produced as part of an ongoing series rather than a numbered run, and aren't individually hand-signed.

Where are the prints made?

Prints are produced through a network of fine art print labs that all use the same archival paper, pigment inks, and quality standards. Where possible, your print is produced near your location. The standard is consistent wherever it's produced.

How do I look after my print?

Prints are best displayed indoors away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and humid rooms.

Shipping & Returns

Where do you ship?

Orders are currently shipped to Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada. Shipping to other countries is not available at this time.

Select your country of residence in the top right hand menu to view prices in your home currency.

How much does shipping cost?

What about customs and import duties?

Can I change or cancel my order?

Orders can't be changed or cancelled once checkout is complete. Each print is made to order and sent to production automatically, so the size and frame choice confirmed at checkout is final.
