Connie Chan is a fine art photographer specialising in floral flatlays arranged by hand. Her direct and ordered styling of flowers highlights the beauty of imperfect everyday things.
Born in Canada, Connie graduated with top honours in the Applied Photography program at Sheridan College, Toronto. She moved to Sydney in 2008 where she built a career in commercial photography, first in ecommerce and then specialising in studio-based product and stop-motion. She became known for her clean, crisp lighting and detailed flatlay compositions. Connie has worked with leading global brands including Estée Lauder, Clinique, Jurlique, Clarins, Google, Halo Top, Moccona, Colgate, and Burt’s Bees.
In recent years, Connie stepped away from commercial work to raise her daughter. Motherhood changed how she valued time and creative purpose. She turned inward and back to the flatlay form, focusing on fine art photography. Connie's practice centres on reclaiming identity as a woman learning who she's become in midlife.
Connie lives and works in the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia.
When she’s not barefoot in her studio and playing with flowers, you can often find Connie searching for whales from her favourite lookout, reading a novel for her book club, or picnicing at the beach with her family.
